Today Tuesday 23, June 2026, a high-level Operations Inspection was embarked upon along the active construction corridors of Ifo /Ewekoro Abeokuta expressway.
The delegation was led by the Area Commander (AC) Abeokuta Metropolis and Environs, AC Yakub A.O., who was accompanied by:
Cmdr. Oyebola A.M.; Corridor Commander, Ifo/Ewekoro),
ACTO Kelani B.F. ,Ifo Divisional Commander and
Senior Officers drawn from both Ifo and Ewekoro Commands.
The primary objectives of the sensitisation were to build on the Operational layout, exercised by the TRACE Personnels and Operatives deployed along the Corridors; To evaluate the root causes of persistent traffic gridlocks within the active re- construction zones; Identifying immediate practical solutions to ease traffic bottlenecks and to engage the key Stakeholders in checkmating the excesses of Motorists in those Areas

At Sabo Park, along Papalanto, inbound Ifo,
The Truck Drivers and Union executives were addressed and sensitised on the danger of parking haphazardly on the roads and its shoulders, that usually contribute to heavy traffic congestion on that axis.
AC Yakub enlightened the Stakeholders on the valuable Man- hours that would be wasted, Loss of humans and materials resources that could be recorded as a result of gridlock and total road blockage likely preventing people to their various businesses, *Hospitals for medical attentions* and other important lives’ Undertakings.
He urged them to strictly desist from practices that could be causing unnecessary disturbances to the Motoring Public,
and try to maintain an unhindered free flow of Traffic System

Mr. Abdullahi Abubakar, Secretary, to the Hausa Community, also the executive members of the Park, expressed gratitude for the strategic Traffic advice. He pledged to communicate the sensitization to all Drivers and members that were not privilege to be around, including those currently in transit or away from the terminal.
In the same vein, a sensitization session was extended to Commercial Drivers,Motorcyclists, and Tricycle Operators at Palanto Garage.
The Area Commander, cautioned them on the persistent gridlocks caused as a result of their excesses; Vehicles loading on the main road, instead of designated Motor Parks

AC Yakub, advised the Operators that the primary cause of traffic gridlock during active construction and re-construction phases is their habit of picking up commuters closely, to the Site and directly at the narrow Corridor.
He admonished the Drivers and Tricycle Operators to be self disciplined in their conducts and strictly obey traffic rules and regulations, as well as TRACE personnel deployed to the area.
The Chairman of the Tricycle Owners and Operators Association of Nigeria (TOOAN), Papalanto Unit, Mr. Wasiu, commended TRACE for its continuous public Enlightenment and Sensitisation, Specific Operational questions raised by Tricycle Operators; Mr. Biodun and Mr. Benjamin, were comprehensively addressed by the TRACE Team with their Questions raised.
The Area Commander concluded the Operational visit at Lakatabu’s road re- construction site, commending Craneburg’s Engineers and field personnel handling that section for their dedication snd Commitment.
AC Yakub emphasized that if they could be working within the time frame given and having a good working relations with TRACE, it will yield a timely and good result, and it would be beneficial to the Motoring Public, especially during this raining Season
